Really tasty fried chicken n waffles. Very fresh, good deals on beer as well, $2 coors light and $2.50 wheat craft beer. Will visit again.

Drum Room is in that sweet park of mediocre parking and awesome places to eat and shop. Curse you, Drum Room. I went when it wasn't busy at all and managed to secure a parking spot, though it was the only one. So going during busy hours may prove irksome in the future. Anywhosit. The interior is mildly interesting and dim (dim is good for my vampire like sensibilities). Of course there's TVs in there and all that since it's part bar and good for watching sporties (athletes, I guess?) sport their hearts out. I ordered a mixed drink from the little drink menu they had at the table for $6, so I was expecting a little glass as per usual. I was brought well over 20 ounces of drink and was boggled. Worth it. Golly. I suppose it WOULD be helpful to name that drink, but I can't remember it. The most you'll get out of me is that it involved ginger beer, simple, and Hoegarden, and somethin' else. But it was really good. As for food, I got the chicken and waffle sandwich. The chick was crispy and juicy, and the flavor was balance well with the waffle and the spicyish sauce it came with. Nothing was overpowering and it all blended. My only minor gripe is that it's so messy. The waffles fall apart easily, but that's whatever overall. I didn't go to Drum Room for a fine dining experience.

Eh--I have been here a couple of times. Usually to-go. I did sit and eat once and they played the entirity of the Red Hot Chili Peppers Blood Sugar Sex Magick Side A--while I was there. I don't know this is a plus or a minus but it gives you something to think about, doesn't it? The chicken is eh. I recently got a Pimento Cheese Burger there--can someone explain to me the obsession with pimento cheese? I don't get it. I enjoy it enough, but why is it on everything all of a sudden? Quinoa--I get--its pretenious and is difficult for the poors to say. Yet, when I think of pimento cheese, I think of the poors?? This is some Orwellian level double speak coming from the hipsters!! Anyway the sandwich was eh. I also don't like the enviroment in there. Its too bro for me. The food is banal basically.

The chicken and waffles is outstanding. Portions are large so be ready to eat. I recommend the half chicken and waffle. It plenty for most people. You could get the full chicken and waffle and share it.

This is a pretty cool spot. There were eight in our party and got in pretty fast on a Saturday night. The staff was friendly and the food was really good. Definitely southern comfort food!

Come for the fried chicken -- it's worth the 15-20 min wait. The rest???... Not steak fries, they are large cut fries. Hot Brussels sprouts salad tastes burnt. Gravy should not be that runny, stick to the ketchup. Iced tea was not worth the cost. And air circulation in that place was horrid. Hot food and not being able to breathe... Bad combo. We all were thankful when we left and stepped outside. But YES to the fried chicken and Coors in a can/bottle. Hard to find regular Coors according to our dinner mates.

My wife and I bought a GroupOn for The Drum Room and I highly recommend it to everyone. I had the 4 drums and steak fries. They serve you alot of steak fries with your order. I would come back to this establishment again and hope everyone tries out the fried chicken.

I have heard multiple people talk about this place and finally came to try it. This used to be a bar previously, but half the bar was cut off to create this restaurant. It is the Drum Room, but it looks carefully, the sign kinda looks like it says the Drunk Room. It is after all open until 2am. The menu is on records, which is pretty neat. I was told that if you have records, you can bring them in and they will play it on the record player. We got the fried chicken and a chicken salad. The waitress was friendly and the chicken was oh so delicious. I have tried several fried chicken places and I think this is comparable to Babe's Chicken diner in Dallas. The chicken is not over-crusted and it melts in your mouth. I had lunch prior at a different restaurant, so hunger was definitely not a factor in my taste buds. I will be back.

Bad Service, mediocre food, expensive prices. Don't order the nachos the $10. It's just 10 chips with sprinkle of cheese and a bowl of sour cream and pico. It was awful. The waiter forgot our order, never refilled our drinks, and had to chase him down for our check. I will not be back.

I've been wanting to try this place forever and finally got to go! It totally answered all my prayers. The fried okra is heavenly and after we ordered some for an appetizer I was glad to get some as a side with my meal. I have been several times now and recently ordered the fried chicken nachos, they make each nacho with the toppings individually, and they were perfection! The waffles tasted like you are eating clouds and are a perfect dessert with added honey after devouring the yummy and perfectly crispy chicken that comes with it. I highly recommend this place as a fun, hip dinner spot for friend gatherings.

If you like fried chicken def try this place. The atmosphere is classic rock like. Drums hung from the ceiling and lots of framed pics of musicians. Tried the whole chicken, waffles, potatoes, gravy, okra, steak fries. The chicken is fresh, hot and good. Waffles are yummy although the 2nd one came out soggy. Mashed potatoes are made with buttermilk. Giving them a sweet taste. You will love them or hate them. Okra was bomb. Gravy and steak fries mediocre. Condiments include head country bbq sauce (the best bbq sauce ever), honey, syrup, Louisiana hot sauce, ketchup. A little pricey. Whole chicken was $18 sides were $4 each. The place is not ventilated well. You will leave with hair and clothing smelling of grease. Parking is limited. The food and atmosphere are a million times better than Eischens.

Crispy. Juicy. Steaming hot. Perfectly seasoned. What else could you want from fried chicken? I will tell you: soul. Yes, soul. That is one ingredient that I feel The Drum Room is missing. The food is tasty. In fact, the chicken is pretty amazing. But the menu as a whole, and definitely the environment, is lacking the soul that one expects when eating soul-food. The Drum Room is located on Western Ave, directly across from the currently closed (for renovation) Cafe Nova. In fact, they are owned by Cafe Nova. I feel like that explains a lot. If you visited Cafe Nova, particularly in the more recent few years, you know that it was lacking something that you just couldn't put your finger on. That is the consensus that I am came to, and so did every other friend I know. Also, I always got a shady vibe when going there--like there was a secret room in the back where I could buy drugs. At least that is the rumor that was circulating. Anyways, that same vibe has unfortunately transferred over to The Drum Room. It is just a bit too dark and shady for my liking. When I have gone, the service has always been decent, but is missing that special something. Like I said, I just can't put my finger on it. As for the food, it is very tasty. The fried chicken alone is worth going to get often, despite my reservations about the atmosphere. The sides include freshly fried okra, mashed potatoes with gravy, french fries, and a couple of others. I always order the fried okra and mashed potatoes and they are both very good. I have ordered both the drumsticks and the drummies. Both orders are humongous with lots of chicken. I think I prefer the drummies because they are smaller and easier to eat. I like to mix hot sauce and honey together, located in the middle of the table along with a bunch of other sauces, and dip each drummie in it. Mmmm! I have had friends order the waffle and the nachos and absolutely love them. But I am stuck on the fried chicken. As for the drinks, they are delicious. They have full bar. The cocktails are super tasty and creative. They also have a great tap of craft beers, including many local choices. What bothers me is that they don't have a printed beer menu with prices. I know they rotate the options often, so don't have a set menu, but I hate having to get up and look at the handles and then ask how much each beer costs. The servers don't seem overly accommodating in this area and I always feel like I am putting them out when I ask. I wish they would print the current menu on simple paper and then re-print as things change. Many brew pubs do this, and they go through beer far quicker than The Drum Room. Either way, they have great options for drinks. I know this review is conflicting. But that is how I feel inside! I love the food. I love the location. But I miss the soul that one expects at a good fried chicken joint. Either way, the chicken rocks. Order that and you won't be disappointed.

I am going to confess something. I will eat almost anything you can put on a waffle. I am kinda picky about my fried chicken though. I love the drum room fried chicken! It reminds me of my moms fried chicken. The seasoning is spot on, and it is always freshly cooked to order. I am fairly certain they cook it in lava. It is always so hot! I always burn myself because I can't wait for it to cool down to a safe ingestion temp. The staff is super friendly and I love the restaurant. The beer selection is not bad and they have a full bar. They are open late which is awesome! They do Trivia nights and some other cool stuff. I like the location also. It can be tricky to park sometimes. I agree with Anna F. The okra is amazing! I also love the waffle sandwich... Waffle, chicken, cheddar and bacon... Yes I think I will have that sir!

Why do I smell like chicken? I'm fresh from the drum room. The Chechen tenders are so very excellent. Boy child and I had chicken tenders, fries and a waffle. All under $12. A win!

Today was the first time I tried this restaurant. Gentleman who took the order was helpful. I ordered the fried chicken nachos and the fried chicken. Quality of the food was excellent. For the nachos; freshly sliced jalapeños, and freshly prepared guacamole (onions and jalapeños were crisp) made it taste even better. Chicken was hot and seemed that it was fries after I ordered it. Mashed potatoes were tasty as well. For me, a very good experience and I would definitely return. Thank you!

Sooooooooo delicious! My father lived 10 minutes away from Eischens while I was growing up so we ate A LOT of yummy fried chicken. Now, while no one will ever compare to the juicy deliciousness of eischens, the drum room will be the only place I will be getting my fried chicken fill without having to make the drive to eischens. We usually order the half bird, a side of mashed potatoes, a side of green beans & some fried okra (Which we share, of course) The mashed potatoes are fantastic, they are creamy, packed with flavor and so yummy. & they still have the skins in them so you know they are real! The green beans are fresh and made with bacon and onions which is the best way to eat em! & the fried okra is TO DIE FOR. My only very minor complaint would be about the waffles, they are waaaay too sweet for my taste but that's perfectly okay. Overall, I love this place. Great atmosphere, also a great beer selection & always great music!

Food was good, but I didn't think it was spectacular enough for a 5. Friday night and food took a good bit to come out (+30 min). Was slightly cold, but still enjoyed the chicken and waffle sandwich and the wrap. Okra and green beans were delicious!

The fried chicken and waffles is a classic that The Drum Room does right! The sides are all good. My favorite, the green beans with bacon and caramelized onions. The atmosphere is cool too. Tvs from every angle, good classic music, and of course drums hanging from all places. The staff is polite and the food is always served hot and fresh. Definitely don't miss checking this place out!

If you're looking for a little taste of heaven in your mouth- this is the spot. I don't know what kind of seasoning they use to bread their chicken when they fry it; but it's like a spiritual experience taking the first bite when it comes out. When you combine that fresh fried chicken with the simple, yet soft waffle- it's really, really great. They have multiple seasonings to choose from if you're wanting to take your chicken/waffle combo to the next level. I usually opt for the classic syrup, but every now and then I'll get a little crazy & drizzle some of their Flaming Lips hot sauce on it. (Wayne Coyne has his own hot sauce, who would have known?) The ambiance of this place is pretty creative with drum sets, cymbals and toms hanging from the ceiling. The beer selection here (draft & bottle) is pretty solid and the fact that they have a full-bar is always a bonus. I usually expect about a 45min-hour wait from when we order food, to when it's delivered at the table; but you know why that is? BECAUSE THEY ARE MAKING IT SO FRESH! Your patience will be rewarded. Just don't go if you're on a short lunch break, or expecting to get in & out quickly. Sit & enjoy.

I wanted fried chicken last night. Here is my story. So, yea...I wanted fried chicken. Not from KFC, or Raising Cane's, or Heaven forbid...Church's. No, I wanted chicken cooked with some love, so I went to my favorite little chicken joint, TDR.* First off, I love the decor of TDR. It's rock n' roll meets 70's style art. It's vintage, it's unique, it's awesome possum. From the drum lamps hanging over each table to the menus made to look like vinyl albums...I am a big fan of it all. The crowd is laid-back, the staff is friendly, and the food is fantastic. On this particular visit, the Missus and I decided to take a shot at the heavyweight title and ordered 1 fried chicken. That's right...the whole flippin' bird. We also ordered some fried okra and steak fries. The chicken arrived about 15 minutes after we ordered it, which was perfect because the Missus and I were highly invested in the fried okra they brought out. The okra was tasty and came with ranch and aioli dipping sauces. I am not one to dip my okra in anything, because okra taste good all by itself. However, I found myself experimenting with the ranch sauce and was pleasantly surprised with the taste. The aioli sauce was very flavorful, but not something I'm a fan of. The steak fries were tasty, as well. I've never been the biggest fan of steak fries, because they never seem to be cooked properly. However, these steak fries were actually up to snuff. I liked that they had some thinner cuts on the steak fries, instead of the thick cut steak fries I see at other places. As for the chicken...well, there was a lot of it. When I ordered an entire bird, I was expecting dainty pieces. So, when I saw the amount of chicken brought out, I was completely shocked. One bird from TDR could easily accomodate 4 people. Ohhhhhh, and it was fried so damn good. So good, it was scary. The chicken was juicy and full of deep fried tasty goodness, and the skin was a beautiful golden color. Which is...umm...EXACTLY HOW CHICKEN SHOULD LOOK AND TASTE. I'm a big fan of this place and you should be too! *I know I'm treading on sacred ground when I say this...but, TDR is better than Eischen's, in my humble opinion. There, I said it. Don't get me wrong, I love Eischen's. However, the food + the atmosphere of TDR surpasses Eischen's.*

Was it the outer neon signs that led me to think that Drum Room was just a bar? Maybe so, but I was surprised to see it was definitely more of a fried chicken house than a bar. For those that love Eischens, this place is quite similar. Though you won't have to wade through blue sand on the floor and wax paper plates, you actually get a fork and knife here. If you like fried chicken, this is a great place to go. Downsides: the heat was pumped up too high (I was sweating in short sleeves!) and our server stopped coming to see us after 1.5 hours... I guess we overstayed our welcome! For those that are wondering if it's smoking or not (seems like our whole table wondered beforehand) -- it's NON-smoking. The bar next door has the sign saying, "Smokers Welcome."

After two visits I'm still not sure if I like this place. The first visit was for chicken and waffles, which were good. I followed that with the Brussels sprout salad. The BSS was good too. The second visit I just finished wasn't a repeat of good, not great, food. In fact the BSS was nowhere near the same quality. Maybe they just aren't consistent given staff changes. Go for the chicken and waffles. Other than that, I can't vouch for them.

Fried chicken and waffle! Enough said, it's simply the best! The chicken was fried to perfection. The waffles where very fresh. I am not even a big fried chicken person, it's just not something I crave, however this sandwich it's on my top 10! It's great junk food and particularly delicious if you are drinking, drunk or hungover. The ambiance it's a low key, dark and rock and roll style. The best part it's open late!

Really good fried chicken. My wife & I got the Drumsticks appetizer during happy hour. Cost $7 instead $14 for 6) drumsticks. They had Coop F5 on tap which is always a plus.

In one word...GO! The fried chicken is so moist, delicious and it really is fried to perfection! The waffles are such a nice and yummy touch. I really love the little restaurant row that is created on Western. The Drum Room really adds to this environment. It's such a relaxed atmosphere but yet the staff is attentive. They have the timing down! You can sit and talk and enjoy the chicken and know that it's really ok to do that. You won't feel hurried but yet cared for. I'm hooked!

The more I visit the less I enjoy it. The three times I've been there is always an issue. This time we went for the lunch special where it is advertised that if you food is not delivered in 20 minutes it's free. It took 30 mins and when I mentioned it to the server he gave me an attitude about not wanting to pay. I don't think we will be going back service just keeps getting worse.

Quaint. Cozy. Overkilled decor of the drum motif. Pimento cheese burger was the best pretzel roll I've ever had. Chicken was what you want from fry savants. But the best is steak fries dipped into honey swirled into the BBQ sauce. Wicked sweet.

I'd been looking forward to the Drum Room since it opened, but hadn't made it in yet. After skipping lunch, my husband and I found ourselves starving and with calories to burn so we came in for an early dinner. Few things are as good as you build them up to be and DR exceeded my expectations. We started with fried okra, which arrived quickly, hot and with ranch and aioli dipping sauces. Solid 5 stars. I got the chicken and waffle sandwich and positively devoured every bite. I wasn't crazy about the cheese and bacon on there, I pulled both off (as much as I could with sticky cheese) and will ask for them off next time. I did, however, cover the sandwich in honey. Fried chicken and honey is my jam and I was a happy happy girl to see that full bottle on the table. 4.5 stars for the sandwich, 5 when I know what I'm doing and order it right. I chose green beans as my fixin' and I am so glad I did. Solid five stars for those tender, crispy delicious (and not at all healthy) haricot verts. My husband had the half chicken on a waffle and he ate about 1/4 of it and happily took the rest home for lunch. Our server was nice and didn't bother us much and didn't judge that I practically licked my plate. Maybe my logic for 4 stars instead of 5 isn't fair because it isn't really their fault and I knew what I was getting into: while the ambiance in there is fun and I love the decor, stepping out into the sun after eating in an almost dark dining room was a big shock to the system, and I also smelled like I'd been at the fryer myself. But the chicken, though... Crispy, delicious, worth the calories and the stinky hair. I will most definitely be back and look forward to trying more of the menu.

Look, I like Drum Room. I do. I've been there on several occasions and at different times of the day. I've late-night dated, brunched with girlfriends and awkwardly run into exes there. The atmosphere is great. And when the food is good, it's great. But my problem is that the quality of my meals is so hit or miss that I never know if I'm going to enjoy my food. For drinks and a great place to hang out, absolutely. For dishes I know I'll always love? Eh.

Carly N.
Ok, this place was pretty cool! From the menu that's in the shape of a record to all the drums hanging on the ceiling which doubled as light fixures. After looking through all the Yelp pictures, I had to order the fried chicken and waffle sandwich because it looked amazing! For $12, you also get one side. I ordered okra and could barely finish it because they gave me so much! The sandwich was pretty good. It was hard to eat it like a regular sandwich since I wanted to dip it in diff sauces so I just pulled everything apart and ate the waffles and chicken separately. The staff was the nicest group of people! This restaurant had a very relaxing atmosphere. There are several TVs so it would be a great place to catch a game. I can't wait to come back!

I wanted some fried chicken and beer and this place seemed to be it. What's great about this place is that it is open late and the atmosphere is very relaxed. You kind of just do your own thing with the chicken and the alcohol. Their menu is simple. You got drumsticks and wings. You take your pick between regular, spicy, and bbq. Their chicken comes out crispy and hot to the bone. Once you take a bite into it, you got all this chicken deliciousness running down your mouth. It's pretty damn good and with a side of beer, what could go wrong? Everyone is friendly and attentive. This is a really good place to come to and unwind and get your fried chicken on.

This is a cool new dive bar type of place. The menu is short, but sweet. They're known for their chicken and waffles, but my friend is not used to chicken with bones so we got the fried chicken nachos and the burger. The nachos were good and plenty. It doesn't come with salsa. Salsa isn't even on the menu, but the chef whipped some right up for us upon request. So the service was fantastic. The burger-also fantastic. It is full of flavor. We got a plain waffle to share and it was delicious. Oh! And the fries! They're thick and perfect! Lastly, the atmosphere is really cool. Will definitely come back for the chicken and waffles!

Finally. I've found the fried chicken of my dreams in okc. I got the 1/2 chicken on a waffle and it was cooked to perfection. My burnt tongue was evidence of it being cooked to order as it was extremely hot. But as good as the chicken was, I do not want it to take away from how delicious the waffle was. It was perfect and buttery and a perfect match for all the salty pieces of chicken batter that collected on it. I can't wait to go back.
(5)
Jim M.
1. Best fried chicken in OKC area; 2. It's a "dive" atmosphere, with beer, chicken and...chicken and beer. But they do what they do very well. It's not a romantic destination but the food is great and beer selection pretty good.

Definitely as good as it gets. The sweet tea is where I'll begin, because it's not often I find a place that I drink the sweet tea and think it's sweet enough. The sweet tea is perfect here. I could've dipped my chicken in it it was so good. But obviously the star of the show was the chicken.. After a small internal conflict between ordering the drumsticks or ordering a chicken and waffle sandwich, I went with the drumsticks (with a side waffle of course.) The breading on these bad boys was incredible. The entire restaurant smells of fried chicken, it was intoxicating in the best way possible. I was a little hungry when I walked in the door, but the aroma of fried chicken increased it tenfold. When I tasted the chicken, and the delicious breading, it was incredible. To top this all off, the meal came with a side, and I chose okra. The bowl of okra that came as a side could've doubled as a meal- it was giant. Let me go add a bookmark to this place because I'll be back verrrrry soon.

I love the decor inside The Drum Room. The lights are cool (they're drums), and there's a drum set in the corner. They definitely know how to stick to the theme. We started with the chicken nachos. Womp, womp. Skip these. They taste like the nachos I made at home when I was a kid and too young to make anything except microwaved cheese on chips. For meals, I got the Drumstick meal, which is 4 fried drumsticks served with a choice of side. I got my go-to favorite side ever mashed potatoes and gravy. I can't imagine I'll ever order anything else if I come back. Definitely the best part of the meal. Chicken was juicy and crispy. The potatoes were how I like them - lumpy like your grandma makes and the gravy was really peppery and delicious. Some people I was with got the chicken and waffle sandwich. Altogether kind of underwhelming. The chicken breast was much drier than the drumsticks, and waffle was meh and kind of underdone for my taste. I also tried the fried okra, which tasted like most fried okra - good, but nothing out of this world. So while some parts of the meal were amazing, others weren't quite as impressive.

Great fried chicken!!! (I cannot say that enough). Good drinks and hard cider on tap. Fried chicken nachos are my favorite. Brussel sprout salad is good too. It is hit or miss with the sides - skip the mashed potatoes. Limited menu and this place closes WAY TOO early for it to be the neighborhood bar hangout.

I love this place! My husband and I had the fried waffle chicken sandwich($12). It was huge, so we shared the sandwich..mmmm..bacon and cheese and syrup! For an appetizer we had the steak fries with gravy($8)...these were bomb too! Most steak fries I have had in the past are big and soggy with no flavor. These fries were crisp and not too big, the gravy is homemade! I definitely suggest coming here JUST FOR THE WAFFLE SANDWICH! OH, and the waitress Korey gave us amazing service too...she was so adorable.

Decided to venture here for a quick bite to eat. Nice service from the bartender, and I like the decor of the place. I was underwhelmed with the food though. There was nothing special about anything I ate (which was their chicken & waffles sandwich). The batter for the waffles was average, the chicken was average, and the bacon and cheese were kind of lost. The side of sauce helped give it some flavor, but I'm a believer that a good meal doesn't require extra seasoning just to be memorable. Sadly, for the price (12 for the sandwich plus a small side) I was unimpressed, and have no need to return. I was happy to experiment, but I can't say this place is anything special at all beyond a unique menu, and OKC is overflowing with way too many places like that as it is.

We were excited to try a good ol fried chicken place, but honestly, the food wasn't bad nor great. In summary: the fried chicken tastes like normal fried chicken really. Nothing special to it. No unique flavors, no unique sauces nor unique sides. I hate to say it, but it tastes very similar to KFC or a Popeyes. We won't be back here as there's nothing special about it. Thus, 3 stars will suffice.

Not sure I was blown away by the chicken at this place as some others are...I mean have you been to Okarche? Note that the chicken here isn't bad. Actually it quite good. Just not the greatest thing since sliced bread. If you want good chicken without the drive for great chicken try this place. Don't get me wrong this is a good place to eat. The fried Okra was like a time machine for me. Taking me back to my grandmothers kitchen. I don't think I have had fresh okra this good in 30 years. Also consumed on this visit was the chicken nachos. I felt these were way over rated and a little over priced. Not sure appetizer is worth the 10 bucks for limited nachos and limited chicken. Last but not least the chicken waffle sandwich. This was all sorts of yum. I would come back for this and the okra any day. Last but not least the service was a bit shaky my visit. I sat at the bar and my glass was empty once for well over 5 minutes until i asked for a refill. As well the okra didn't come out with the meal. After finishing most of the meaI asked again about the okra, which had been forgotton about by the waitress. Almost missed out on getting to taste that awesome okra. I will back i am sure, as this place seem like a good place to catch a ball game, have a drink and get some good eats.

Love, love, love their fried chicken! On my first visit, I shared the fried chicken nachos with a friend. OMG! Best nachos ever!! My only regret was that I shared an order as I could have easily eaten a plate on my own. On my next trip, my husband and I ordered a half chicken. It did take some time to get the food, but the menu warns that all of their chicken is made to order and there will be a wait. Loved the chicken! Not a big fan of the waffle that came with it though. It wasn't hot and tasted like it had been made the day before and thrown on the plate as an after thought. However, the chicken more than made up for it. My only complaint about this place is the iced tea. It had NO flavor whatsoever. The lesson learned here is that you should only order from the bar when visiting here as they do have a nice selection. I am definitely a fan and will be back!

Probably the best fried chicken and waffles I've ever had! My husband and I sat at the bar because it was a busy Saturday night. The food was great and the service was just as great!. They made you feel like a regular even though it was our first time. If you're looking for great food in OKC go to the Drum Room for great food and a funky place to have a few drinks!

Even though some dumb biddies stole our reservation, we were still given excellent service. When my friend forgot his leftovers at the table, the server tracked us down the street at a bar and brought us some fresh chicken and okra. Bless her soul. Food was amazing. There is truly nothing better than fried chicken and beer. Maybe fried chicken, beer, and waffles. Yep. Overall, phenomenal and highly recommended.

What can I say, it was just Ok. Nothing to complain about (well, not too much), but nothing to brag about either. The fried chicken was good. Ive had better, Ive had worse. I think my biggest issue was the place was kind of a mess (the floor was disgusting) and everything felt sticky. Yes, I said it, sticky. On a Sunday evening, the place had maybe 3-4 tables of people and it took a lloooonnnngggg time to get our food. I thought it was really weird because it was just a half chicken and some chicken strips, but it took like 20-30 mins to get our food. It wasn't a big deal since we weren't in a hurry, but it did seem weird. My big issue was the floor. It was like we were in a grungy bar, but it was a restaurant. My waffle was also luke warm at best, but it did have good flavor. I sound more negative than I mean to, but it really was just meh. Id go back, but I doubt it'll be anytime soon.

Maybe I came on an off night or maybe the fry cook wasn't on his game *shrugs*, who knows? What I will tell you is that this place was terrible and I mean terrible with a capital T. First off my wife and I had actually been planning on trying this place for a while now and were thoroughly disappointed by the diveynest off the bar and terrible food. We first ordered the fried chicken nachos. The cheese was dry and cold w/ bits of fried chicken stuck in between like my 3yr old had been back there making appetizers. The main event for us was the half fried chicken which came out hot but you could taste that the grease was old and needs to be changed. The best part about the whole night was the fact that they pour nice sized single shot drinks. My wife and I couldn't wait to get the hell outta there and regret that we even went. Honestly I see why they are on groupon now.

This place does good fried chicken, ordered mine done in the "flaming lips" sauce and it was very good. The sauce is a spicy citrusy pineapple flavor, more liquid than goo like you see with a hot wing sauce. The pineapple description almost killed it for me but I was glad I got it, it's definitely there but it compliments the spice and the little bit of heat it had really well. The batter could be a little crispier but that's a personal thing, it had nice flavor. Service was decent, we were there at an odd time of day and I think they were short staffed but still took good care of us. Nice friendly folks. Steak fries were awesome. Mashed potatoes were awesome. Okra was very good, waffle was very good. Atmosphere was cool. I'd be happy to try it again.

I went to the Drum Room in early Sept 2013 after seeing it going down Western one day, I had also been told that inside it looked like literally a drum room. Me being a musician and having played in bands I HAD to go check this place. I had been told that they served fried chicken here and BOY do they do! When you walk into the Drum you are greeted with drums EVERYWHERE, they are made in place of the lights, they got everything from snare drums, toms, and even a full on bass drum kit in 1 room acting as a full light fixture, there is even bongos on the side of the bar area (they have both bar & regular seating areas). The menu is made to look like a old vinyl record which I thought was pretty cute On my first visit I had half a chicken along with mashed potatoes and fried Okra. It was cooked perfectly, the mashed potatoes were AWESOME! The other cool thing, they have TONS of options to eat your fried chicken with, bbq sauce, honey, hot sauce, syrup? You name it they got it! I went a 2nd time and had the same thing as far as meat goes (1/2 chicken) however I tried some kind of greens instead of mashed potatoes and although it was good I think I preferred the mashed potatoes more. Other cool thing about this place, free wifi for those that are technologically inclined ;) Its very cool for a musician to go to as you are greated with a ton of rock memorabilia everywhere (there is also tv's to watch games on), I asked the waiter on my 1st visit if they are ever going to have full live bands play at the establishment & was told they will most likely do acoustic sets one day. One can hope they have full bands play there one day All in all AWESOME place! Loved it!

Loved the drum room! The drum room is part of the Deep Fork Restaurants Group that include Cafe Nova, Mantle Wine Bar and the Wedge Pizza amongst others. The concept is nicely thought out and well executed both in the restaurant and in the food. The drum room is pretty much all about chicken - hence drum. But why stop there? let's hang actual drums from the ceiling as light fixtures and toss in a kitschy, we only play vinyl and menus shaped like vinyl and you have a nicely executed concept. What is super unique and wonderful about The Drum Room is the food is really, really good. The chicken is prepped to order so it comes out hot, fresh and succulently crisp. I had the chicken and waffles - in fact, the whole table had chicken and waffles. The waffles were not only a nice accompaniment to the chicken but they are arguably some of the best waffles I have had. They were warm, doughy and light. Not greasy, slightly chewy and just sweet enough. A low-light was the Brussels sprout salad - it was absolutely drenched in balsamic vinegar - so much so - they were almost black and very sour and mushy over cooked. The staff was working like mad and at some times things lagged. Once we did receive our food, they checked in regularly and asked how we liked our meal upon leaving. They even offered to play my husband's vinyl on our next visit. So...the drum room has all the bases covered: great concept, excellent food and management that cares about how they are doing. Check out the drum room - you will not be disappointed.

I'm not dead. This isn't heaven. But if we get to choose our own, I hope they'll let me have the blueprints. @DrumRoomOKC 4 EVA. If you had asked me what OKC needed, I'm certain I would not have been creative enough to come up with, "an upscale bar that serves fried chicken, plays only vinyl, and has drums hanging from the ceiling." But that's why I'm not a restauranteur, or an imagineer or whatever. This idea is fantastic, will likely do great in Oklahoma City, and will become a legend over time. That's my prediction. I had a cocktail and split an order of the drumsticks. They were outstanding. This is like the fried chicken you're grandmommy made, except better. They're using exceptional meat, have come up with a killer breading and a fry it up just right. My only sorrow right now is that I haven't gotten to try the fried okra yet. Our server was so cool I don't even think he knows how cool he is. Oh, and then I had a Coop F5, one of my favorite beers in this life or the next. But the best part has got to be the vinyl. While we were there we got to listen to Appetite for Destruction from start to finish. What?! You know what's happened to our brains after listening to iPods for ten years? We've tricked our brains into thinking binary numbers are music. Now, these binary numbers make a close approximation of music, and they sure do a great job of compressing the files into a portable format. But when you hear a classic Guns and Roses record on a killer sound system, it sounds so much better than the audio junk we've been trained to listen to that you have to remind yourself for a moment that what you're hearing isn't actually live. Like, being played by skinny Axl on a stage just out of your line of sight. So, to recap: Fried Chicken (and okra and fixins and other good stuff) Rock and Roll on Vinyl Cool staff (actually cool and not feigning it) oh and LOTS OF DRINKS I was relieved to discover that I'm not dead, I didn't die. I'm not in heaven. I can live on this earth and get to hang out here. I swear life just gets better.

I was very disappointed with lunch today. They substituted waffle fries for steak fries. Someone doesn't know how to cook them. They were hard and way overcooked. The wait staff did not inform us of the substitute before hand. Waffle fries are not even on the menu. Overpriced and not good, today!

My first visit after hearing lots of praise about this place. The chicken is indeed good. It's cooked when you order, so does take some time. The waffle sandwich is tasty. But, when the chicken isn't super moist, it makes for a sandwich that needs a cold beer to wash it down. The waffle fries and okra are full of flavor and crispy too!

07/02/2013 - early lunch Great new spot for fried chicken and snacks. We ordered the FRIED CHICKEN $18 (whole bird) and FRED OKRA $4 (side) for two, both of which were lovely. The FRIED CHICKEN is made to order so wait time takes 20-25 minutes. The first bite into the fried chicken was absolutely amazing. It is surprisingly moist and crunchy on the outside, with a zingy crust. The whole bird is served atop a waffle and has 8 pieces of chicken. We had plenty left over as a party of 2. FRIED OKRA was great! Perfect little bites with a thin battered layer. The only down side was we ordered the side, not the appetizer, so they didn't come with a chipotle or garlic (can't remember) that I heard was great as well. Even though we had to wait for 20 minutes for our food, we were pleasantly surprised by some amuse bouches provided by the wait staff. We were able to sample the pimento cheese (made IN HOUSE every day!) atop some toast fingers, which kept us happy until our food arrived Total bill came out to $22 for an abundance of food. I will be back to try the other dishes. OVERALL: Great fried chicken, long wait time, order the okra APPETIZER to get the aioli

Came for lunch with coworkers. The food and service was great. I love the atmosphere and vibe of the place. We got the fried okra for an appetizer, it's some of the best I've had anywhere. I had the fried chicken and waffle sandwich and green beans. The chicken and waffle sandwich was really good but the green beans were amazing! I could live off them.

It's fried chick..... . . . . Sorry, had to restart my heart. The chicken was good. The place was in need of some serious cleaning. The sauce bottles were all greasy, kind of gross. The tables were tacky. The menus were gross too.

Worthy of a drum roll and return engagement. Does OKC, or your body mass index, really need another deep-fried food restaurant? Probably not, however, it was late and a friend who only goes for "fabulous" suggested we drop in on the Drum Room. Manager Bryan Oliver greeted us at the door. When our teeth stopped chattering long enough to say the room was freezing like a meat locker, he addressed the issue immediately and asked if we liked music by The Doors. Hell yes! We enjoyed our cocktails to Riders on the Storm. Okay, I'm almost a vegetarian, don't eat bread and deep fried crap-ola, but the grilled chicken wrap was excellent (although could anything be more nutritionally worthless than a white flour tortilla?). "But it tastes good," you whine? Get over yourself. Eat right and maybe you will live long enough to see your grandchildren graduate from Weight Watchers. It would be great if the Drum Room had more healthy menu choices other than chicken and waffles. I will go back for drinks and the atmosphere and genuinely nice people. The staff really cares so it's like going to a friend's house who plays cool music and doesn't droll on about politics or religious rapture. Who wants to listen to that when you are drinking whiskey neat?

The service was terrible. We waited for almost an hour (the restaurant was not even busy) and our order was wrong. The food was good but not worth the wait. I guess it's hard to get things done when your server is obviously high.

1/2 Chicken over a fluffy waffle....dang good! Chicken was crispy and piping hot and not at all greasy....cooked just like Mamas! Okra was a great add-on too with service that was friendly and accomodating. Great low key place with awesome eats! Highly recommend!

I had the waffle chicken sandwich. It was delicious. My favorite part about the meal was trying a different sauce for every bite. They have hot sauce, bbq sauce, honey, maple syrup, ranch, spicey mayo, ect. They make the chicken fresh so be ready to wait 30 minutes or so. I enjoyed the meal but I can't get over Bobo's chicken. I'm sorry drum room! I'll be back though!

i found it cool that the music they play is actually a collection of vinyl records of different classic bands. that is way cool! the bartender played a fleetwood mac album for me and i loved it! the food is unique and delicious. i had the chicken and waffes and oh my gosh, mmmmm good! decent beer selection i observed, cant remember which one i ordered as it's been a couple of years, might have been shock top. i definately would recommend this place if you're looking for something unique.

After coming here steadily for my fried chicken cravings the past few months, I can definitely say that this is a 5 star chicken joint. I've had a good variety of the menu now and have been very satisfied with each item. So far I've had the chicken nachos, the horseshoe, and the whole bird. The horseshoe was really yummy and is a good option if you want to try one of their non-chicken items. It is a waffle with a hamburger patty on top along with cheese, steak fries, and gravy. Somehow this all came together beautifully and tasted great. My boyfriend and I ordered a whole bird one night and had plenty leftover to eat on the next few days. He most recently had the drummies which I think is a perfect portion to get your fried chicken fix. As stated in my previous review, their fried okra is still a must have! The chefs and staff here truly make sure all your needs are met and that you have a great experience. They haven't let me down yet and I don't ever expect them to!

Had: -grilled chicken nachos -fried chicken and waffle sandwich w/okra -fried chicken (half bird) and waffle A brief family history first. My wife grew up eating fried chicken and loves it, I didn't and don't typically seek it out. That being said... what a wonderful concept and food! The nachos looked like they had been individually topped and tasted great with the sides of guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, and jalapeños. The wife really enjoyed the chicken and waffle sandwich. She commented that it was a good mix of salty and savory and tasted great with either the BBQ sauce or the syrup. The okra was well done and flavorful with a side of slightly spicy sauce. (Aioli?) The fried chicken and waffles were wonderfully cooked, crispy and not overly greasy. I found that I liked the first few bites of each piece with a little bit of honey. After I finished the chicken it was time for the waffle that was now covered with debris from the fried chicken batter that survived the first round. After topping the waffle with some syrup, it didn't stand a chance and was instrumental in helping me mop the plate clean. I do believe this is now my one and only fried chicken stop. P.S.-The chicken is made to order so expect to wait about twenty minutes after you place your order.

Drum Room opened up on Western and 42nd really close to my house, so I decided to stop by. What a great decision- I ordered the Chicken and Waffles, and I was impressed. 4 Pieces of mixed fried chicken and a waffle. I covered 2 pieces with syrup, but the final two I covered in honey (a la bobo's). The skin was crispy and perfectly seasoned, and the inside was steaming hot and flavorful. The waffle was perfectly doughy and soaked up all the syrup and honey I had been pouring over the chicken and then crispy from all the fried bits left over. Excellent chicken, but know that meals are $10+. Huge portions and fair pricing, but not a lot under $10.

Went to the Drum Room for the first time for Sunday Brunch. I'm a huge chicken and waffles fan and had heard good things. Walking in, the theme is rock n roll with a very relaxed vibe. The pops and hisses from the vinyl record solidify the overall theme. I ordered the half chicken and waffle only. Got a small taster of pimento cheese to start courtesy of the staff. Was not overly impressed with the pimento cheese, but I'm pretty solid in my #1 choice. The entree came out and was spilling over my plate. Make no mistake, a half chicken is a ton of food for $12. The chicken was seasoned great, very crispy, and extremely juicy. And while the chicken was fantastic, I was disappointed in the waffle. The flavor was great, but was way over cooked. If I had been soft at all I would have given 5 stars. But besides the waffle, everything else was great! I will definitely be back in again, but may forgo the waffle this time around.

Some really good fried chicken. I had the brussels sprout salad with a fried chicken breast on top and it was great! Nice serving size and the odd combo of ingredients really works in harmony. My boyfriend had the half chicken and waffles and it was actually enough food to fill him up and have some leftover! We also got a side of fried okra. The aioli was a little under seasoned for me, but since the okra had so much salt on it, it actually balanced out quite nicely. I'd definitely come back. I ordered this to go and I'm disappointed I didn't stay because apparently it was bingo night!

The food was okay, the fried chicken was nice and crispy but a little on the bland side. I am happy to report, however, that the mashed potatoes and gravy were spot on. The prices seemed a bit on the high side considering it's just fried chicken, if they were a little bit more affordable I would consider going back but as it stands now I'll take a trip to the east side for bobo's over this any day of the week.

This was not a good week in healthy eating my friends :( The story? I cooked a rather small portion for dinner because I didn't have time to go all Food Network style in the kitchen. @ aprx 8:20pm my stomach and I started getting into a fight. It was saying, "Feed me, feed me or else I will revolt!" Eeeep! @8:25pm I decided to interrupt the boo watching a Duck Dynasty rerun to drive with me to a food establishment. @8:30pm I find that many of the places I wanted to go were A) about to close or B) closed. Light bulb moment: Let's go to The Drum Room! They open late and probably still serve food! The fancy light display welcomed us. Oooow ahhhh... We easily found parking right in front, my lucky day. Our server quickly took our drink order and advised that the fried chicken will take aprx 20 mins to cook and suggested if we were hungry, to order a starter. Naw, I thought. Tum tum can wait! The boo had a beer. I opted for water. I needed to cancel the bad eating with something not so calorie loaded! Ordered the Drumette combo w/ a waffle side as the side to share. For $10, not bad. A half fried chicken runs $12 and I think it comes with two sides. The verdict? I personally think the spices used on the chicken taste similar to KFC with a kicker. The kicker is that I feel like it's more salty and crispy. Salty would be a good thing if you're drinking! Crispy, well... Crispy is always good when you're talking fried chicken! What about the waffle? Well, the boo thought it tasted like marshmallows when you mix the butter and syrup on top. By itself, it kinda taste well.... Like a standard waffle. I would go again just to hang out at the bar because it's pretty nifty inside. Also, I need to try their actual fried chicken now while I'm actually drinking an alcoholic beverage ;)

The owners of Nova have done well. Tasty and simple food with a little spice. Definitely a marked improvement from their former establishment. The area is decorated with drums and pics of rockers. The scene is pretty chill. Drumsticks and drummies are half priced during happy hour. Happy hour is 4-7. Any way, I'm a fan. Bring it drum room!

Great fried food! I had the okra to start. Very good . Not slimy or mealy. Then the chicken and waffles! So good. My green bean were slightly over cooked, but they were covered in bacon; so, do you really care? No. No you don't. We'll be back!

Pretty much obsessed with this place. The fried chicken is great and fried okra is about the best around. They have a great selection of beers the place is also decorated in tribute to its name. Very cool casual date place. Please try the pimiento burger. For chicken lovers, you can order a half or whole chicken or just drummy sets or wing sets for us dark meat lovers. Ive been here several times and never noticed but tonight the music was especially loud. Actually it was so loud it was hard to communicate with my friends and the waiter. Maybe it was where we were sat. All in all I love this place

I was immediately interested in this place after reading some of the good reviews on Yelp. I've always wanted to taste the mysterious combination of chicken & waffles. Unfortunately, I was flying solo on this place, so I sat at the bar. The service was prompt & friendly. I ordered the Fried Chicken & Waffle Sandwich. I was picturing a greasy KFC leg stuffed between two waffles, but what I got was entirely different. What I got was a perfectly cooked, boneless piece of delicious fried chicken served between two fresh waffles with cheese and a thick cut of bacon! Are you kidding me?! This is what I would like to eat everyday, but that's not happening. I had a side of green beans and I do tend to be a green bean connoisseur. These green beans were off the hook! Crispy when you bite into them & salty on the back side. Yeah, I know. Anyhow, the only downside was the price. I hate to be stingy, but seriously 12 bucks for a single piece of fried chicken between two waffles? Seemed a bit much. I'd like to come back though.

Finally made it to The Drum Room! It was really great! Half a bird with mashed potatoes and gravy (as good as grandmas) and a big Belgian waffle. The chicken was fresh, hot, juicy and crispy!!! My hubby got the same thing but added fried okra and it was awesome too. The waiter was helpful and very attentive. There's no way we could eat all the food so leftovers are what's for lunch tomorrow! Great place!

Just finished lunch and or was good. Waiter have good service even to the point of bringing a fresh sample of the cooks pimento cheese for me to try. The only reason I don't give then a five star is the noise level is high, for some people that's not a problem but for me it is. Overall great time and I will be back, hint if you want great, friendly service ask for Ben.

I was really impressed with the Drum Room! I'd been wanting to try it to see how it compared to Eischen's (for a much shorter drive), and I really liked it. I had a Groupon worth $20 and we went on a Friday night and waited maybe five minutes before being seated. We started out with the fried chicken nachos, which were really good. My mom had the drummie set with fries, and my sister and I both got the fried chicken and waffle sandwich with fried okra. So genius and delicious. I'm definitely on the chicken and waffle bandwagon, and an easy-to-eat sandwich with waffles as the bread is perfection. I think it was served with a jalapeno aioli, but my sister put honey on hers, which sounded really good too. The sandwich was delicious and I was impressed with the okra too. Honestly, I am usually weary when buying a Groupon. My take is unless it's a brand new restaurant, I expect something to be slacking, whether it's service, food, whatever. Nothing was slacking at the Drum Room! Our server seemed busy but he was super friendly and quick. They also offer complimentary valet parking in The Barrel's parking lot across the street. I think this is only on weekends, but it's definitely necessary! This area is not ideal for parking when things get busy, so the valet made it really easy. I know I'll be back to the Drum Room. It was great!

This was the second time I've been here and definitely wasn't disappointed. Parking in front of the restaurant is hard but there was a parking lot across the street. There are many deals that this place offers such as groupings, keep it local and happy hour from 4-7 pm. I brought a groupon and use it. Did not have a problem using it and they take Keep it local card. The chicken was very crispy and hot out of the fryer. It was a little difficult to eat because the food was hot but it was still great. I was a little disappointed in not having a drink menu and not getting much fried okra for $7 bucks so that is why I gave the place a four but this is a great place to go. Definitely come here for the chicken and if you can find a groupon definitely buy one before coming.

Came on a friend's recommendation but was sadly disappointed. It appeared to be about 2/3 full, but all empty tables were dirty so we had to wait to be seated. Once seated, a waiter came and took our drink order but then apparently forgot we were there! Had to flag someone down after 25 minutes to take our order. We had chicken & waffles and fried chicken nachos. The food itself was good, but the service was poor. We ran completely out of drinks twice, and again, the place was not full! While the food was good, the service ruined the experience and the food was not "wow" enough to bring me back.

This is a diamond in the rough. I had the pleasure of stopping through this joint why visiting OKC and I was very pleased. the setup is cool and very laid back. The service is relaxed and helpful. The staff will help you navigate through menu. If you're not super hungry you may want to share a plate. Now about the food, Hmmmm EXCELLENT! The chicken was cooked to perfection. The food was seasoned and did I say they give you plenty! I couldn't finish my food which is unusual for me. On my next visit I will order less and maybe some take out. This place is ready for franchising! I want one in California!

I've got to say "they do yard bird!" It's good! We've sat at the bar each time and have had great service. Seems to be a popular place for lunch and after hours. Laid back atmosphere. Food may appear to be pricy when you look at the menu, but well worth it once you taste it.

It is a cool little place on Western. Turns out they also own The Barrel across the street. Anyways, their chicken and waffles were pretty good, that Okra was pretty tasty to. We also ordered some cherry vodka drink, it was good but the vodka almost overpowered the drink (not sure if this is normal or not). The answer: I would come back

Ate here, 17 Jan for dinner. We sat at the bar, the bar tender who was also taking orders seemed overwhelmed at first, but settled down.. I ordered the 6 fried legs Okra Waffle The okra came with this sauce on the side that was tasty! Waffle was good! I saved the best for last, the fried chicken came out piping hot, along with the okra.. The chicken was so seasoned, and juicy! This has to be the best fried chicken I have ever had... I had leftovers 18 Jan, and it was still good.. the key is to warm it up in the oven on 400, until hot.. Still flavorful, this my friends is my new favorite spot..

The Drum Room for lunch is the place to be, if you like chicken. Do I like chicken, you ask? Of course I do. Do you like a laid - back, we don't wear uniforms because that wouldn't be cool, can I get you some more tea, hole -in- the - wall kind of place? Then read on. Try the chicken breast sandwich. It includes a generously endowed breast, covered with cheese, tiered with bacon (YES bacon), and served between two waffles. But wait, it also comes with fries. Outstanding lunch. For the lighter appetites, order the following ( it's not actually on the menu): a waffle and a chicken breast. It's only $5. That's right. The $5 dollar lunch is not a myth. This doesn't come with fries, but you will still walk away satisfied. There is honey and syrup on the table (it's actually in the bottles on the table, but you get my drift). Oh, and dont tell them you heard it from me.

I got the chicken wrap and asked them to toss the chicken in the flaming lips sauce. It was so good. Not crazy spicy, the cheese and ranch on the wrap helped with that. I also got the green beans which were fully cooked but still crunchy, which I like. The bacon and onions with the beans helped of course, since, you know, bacon. The wait staff was attentive and kind, even with a large party at the other end of the room. Highly recommended!! :)

I was really excited to check out the new place in town. My husband and I have tried twice, and so far, we have been pretty disappointed... The concept is great and the decor is very cute, but the staff could use some help. The first time we went in there, we asked to see a cocktail menu, and the bartender told me to look up on the chalk board across the bar. Well, it all the way across the bar in a dark room- even if I was sitting in front of the chalk board I don't think it would have been visible. Good thing they have a nice beer selection. It is nice that they offer a late night menu. however, when we asked for a menu, it took about 10 minutes for the bartender to find one. She handed it to us and then proceeded to tell us that it was limited, which is fine, but she was not really sure which items were available. We decided on the chicken and waffle sandwich bc that was the only item we were told was an option... and it was delicious, 40 minutes later. I understand that the chicken is made to order, but a late night snack, 40 minutes later? Too long. Maybe if they concentrated a little more on customer service rather than serving their own staff, we would have had a better experience...

About to try the pink cadillac. It was a nice experience, greeted and seated promptly. Cool atmosphere, had already eaten someplace else and will update review when I get the opportunity to go back and try the chicken & waffle sandwhich everyone talks about!

Outstanding fried chicken and waffles! The only thing that keeps it from 5 star is the amount of wait time for your meal. The chicken and waffles are fresh out of the kitchen so I'm not sure they could be any faster. Great service! I'll be back for sure!

I had the fried chicken and waffle sandwich and would definitely recommend it. The chicken was not dried out, but not greasy either. Just perfect.

Omg so good. I love fried chicken and they did not disappoint. My husband and i shared the fried chicken waffle sandwich and the fried chicken nachos. Both were very good! Our server was sooo nice. I asked what drinks are good and she suggested a vodka/pineapple juice/ginger drink that was so good. We will totally be back!

Great new place! Only plays vinyl records. Awesome fried chicken. Had drummies, which were amazing with hot sauce or honey. But the half bird was truly the best!

Not kid friendly, more of a college place. Still good food though. Had the chicken and waffle sandwich and fried okra. The sandwich was great, the okra was just ok.

Just left The Drum Room and I must say that the chicken nachos were excellent, chicken and waffles were on point and the customer service was the best I've had anywhere. Great job!

Come on people you can get the same chicken and waffles at Beverley's for half price. Yeah, the concept is cool and etc but I don't' get why I have to pay double and the waffle feels like its been microwaved. Cool, but price is way to high for some chicken.

Sorry Bobo's, you've been replaced. You've burned me one too many times with your overcooked, overpriced, over-smoked chicken. While I'll miss the entire Bobo's experience as a whole, the lure of the Drum Room is just too enticing. Half a chicken with a waffle for 12 bucks? Fried okra on the menu? Annnd they do late night? Yeah, count me in. I've been to the Drum Room on two separate occasions. The first time was on a weeknight and we ordered the half fried chicken with waffle, as well as the brussels sprouts salad. The brussels sprouts salad was pretty disappointing, considering the amount of balsamic dressing that it came drenched in, I'd say it was more of a soup than a salad. I mean balsamic packs enough flavor on it's own, all you need is a slight coating - instead, these sprouts were swimming in the stuff. The brussels sprouts were a little mushy, slightly overcooked in my opinion, but all things considered - the flavor was still pretty good. The pecans helped by adding a needed crunch. The chicken and waffles was clearly the star of the show. The chicken was extremely tender and juicy, likely due to a good brine before frying. The exterior was crispy and salted nicely. In terms of the waffle, it was a little on the soft side for me. The buttermilk flavor was great - but I think it could have benefited from an extra minute or so in the waffle press. I'd certainly recommend the half bird though. My second time at Drum Room, on a weekend, resulted in their late night menu. It's got many of the same items (you can still order the half or whole bird), but a few changes here and there. I decided to try the fried chicken waffle sandwich with bacon and cheddar. In theory, it sounded great - but it fell short of my expectations based on the half bird and waffle I'd tried previously. The chicken was, to my surprise, slightly overcooked and dry. The only reason I can think of is that perhaps they use white meat for the sandwich - whereas the half bird is bone-in dark meat, so naturally the dark meat will tend to be more moist. The bacon was nice, as bacon always tends to be, but the cheddar was relatively undetectable. The waffle itself was pretty overpowering for the entire sandwich - it was difficult to eat because it was so bulky. I don't really know how to remedy that, perhaps just a thinner waffle? I'ono. My point is - save yourself the late night trip to Bobo's and just order the half bird and waffle. Overall Grade: B

The food was quite good. We had fried chicken and okra and ate most of our granddaughters macaroni and cheese. The chicken wasn't quite as good as Eischens but can stand up against most others I've tried. The tastiness of the Mac and Cheese was a nice surprise for a table full of Mac and Cheese snobs.

Had dinner here recently and enjoyed the experience. The fried chicken was cooked perfectly, but could be seasoned with a little more spice. Fried okra was very good. The waffle was overcooked and dry with little flavor. I have been to several chicken and waffle restaurants, and the drum room doesn't really pull that off. I will go back for the fried chicken and cool atmosphere.

Our waitress was Haley. She was super cool and helpful when suggesting what is good to eat. I ordered the chicken nachos, which were the tits!!! I recommend this place for sure

Today was my second time at The Drum Room... figured heck, it's 3pm on a beautiful Saturday afternoon... surely it won't be too busy yet... Wrong... packed to the gills, must have timed it just right cause there was a booth open just as we walked in. Service was awesome, only a minute passed before our server was there to get our drink orders and that level of attentiveness stayed the entire time. Simple Menu - focused on the most amazing Fried Chicken I've ever had in my life. You will want to stuff yourself to the gills on Chef Ben's fried chicken - it's the perfect amount of batter and the balance of seasoning is wickedly tasty. Haven't gotten to the cocktails yet as they have a great beer selection to choose from but if the top shelf is any indication of the quality of their Mixologist's... well then I'm sure they will be quite satisfying. I can't wait to see how they expand things if at all... maybe a bit more diversity on the menu or let the Chef's creative juices flow for a Daily Lunch and Dinner Special??? Recap: Good food, you need this Fried Chicken in your life - GO NOW!!!!

Awesome. Flaming Lips sauce is incredible on the wings. The waffle sandwich also rocks!

(2)Justin D.
The chicken and waffles is outstanding. Portions are large so be ready to eat. I recommend the half chicken and waffle. It plenty for most people. You could get the full chicken and waffle and share it.
(5)Chris M.
This is a pretty cool spot. There were eight in our party and got in pretty fast on a Saturday night. The staff was friendly and the food was really good. Definitely southern comfort food!
(4)Brian W.
(2)Felix V.

(5)Quinton M.
(1)Ashlie C.
(5)Nancy M.

It may be fried chicken but it's amazing friend chicken. The decor is fantastic and the atmosphere is laid back and fun. We had great service and a great meal- we'll be back!
(5)Angela G.
(5)Danne J.
Why do I smell like chicken? I'm fresh from the drum room. The Chechen tenders are so very excellent. Boy child and I had chicken tenders, fries and a waffle. All under $12. A win!
(4)Rehan S.
Thank you!
(5)Savanah F.
(5)Jill H.
Food was good, but I didn't think it was spectacular enough for a 5. Friday night and food took a good bit to come out (+30 min). Was slightly cold, but still enjoyed the chicken and waffle sandwich and the wrap. Okra and green beans were delicious!
(4)Michael W.
(5)Ashley W.

(5)Stephanie S.
(3)Dana W.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Servers were very friendly and helpful. You get more food than you could possibly eat and the prices are not bad either. We loved it and highly recommend it. Definitely will be going back.
(4)Kevin R.
(3)Juli M.
(5)Chris K.
Great food great staff. Had a chicken a waffle very good. Staff was very nice and helpful. Definitely will go back and recommend if you are on the fence about trying it out!
(5)Kenny D.
Really good fried chicken. My wife & I got the Drumsticks appetizer during happy hour. Cost $7 instead $14 for 6) drumsticks. They had Coop F5 on tap which is always a plus.
(4)Josh B.
"Late night eats" - per their website. Rolled in last night and the kitchen was closed before the NBA game was over (9:30). Call before you count on your "late night eats"
(3)Robin E.
I'm hooked!
(5)Tiffany A.
(2)Erin T.
Quaint. Cozy. Overkilled decor of the drum motif. Pimento cheese burger was the best pretzel roll I've ever had. Chicken was what you want from fry savants. But the best is steak fries dipped into honey swirled into the BBQ sauce. Wicked sweet.
(4)Lyndi Z.
(4)Caressa S.
Eh.
(3)Carly N.
(4)John H.
(5)Trang N.
(4)L M.
Cool atmosphere. The chicken is salty and crunchy. The waffles fluffy and delicious. Awesome!!
(5)Matt B.
(5)Jim M.
1. Best fried chicken in OKC area; 2. It's a "dive" atmosphere, with beer, chicken and...chicken and beer. But they do what they do very well. It's not a romantic destination but the food is great and beer selection pretty good.
(5)Matt P.

Very good chicken! Normally 5 stars but The last time I went the green beans were burnt and the wrap was super dry.
(3)Tara S.

(1)Beau B.
(4)Robert R.
Wow!! Thanks YELP Not sure I would have ever found this place without you. Can't beat the service or the ambience. The chicken is perfect, crispy and juicy and waffles are are delish. If you like fried chicken, don't miss this one
(5)Tommy S.
Good atmosphere and good food and real friendly staff, Oklahoma City lucky to have this restaraunt
(5)Natasha K.
I loved how my food was fresh out of the fryer! I had the fried chicken and waffle sandwich .. ahhhmazing.. hit the spot on this bone chilling day
(5)Ced L.
This place was awesone! Found it on Groupon...I'm glad we did. The okra was excellent! The gravy was OUTSTANDING! the chicken was Superb! Come by and give them a try...they won't disapoint!

(5)Debra B.
I was very disappointed with lunch today. They substituted waffle fries for steak fries. Someone doesn't know how to cook them. They were hard and way overcooked. The wait staff did not inform us of the substitute before hand. Waffle fries are not even on the menu. Overpriced and not good, today!
(2)Misha Z.
Lovin the decoration so far. Shady area of town...but the service was prompt, chicken was delicious, and the their menu was on a old school record.
(4)Thuy N.
Best fried chicken I've ever had. Great customer service, great atmosphere and location. Plenty of parking spaces and cheap beer. Very affordable
(5)Jennifer L.
(4)Mike H.
Pretty awesome place. Fried chicken and waffle was spot on fantastic. Great room, great music and great wait staff. Recommend for sure!
(5)Stacey K.
(5)Rebecka M.
(5)Edward J.
It's fried chick..... . . . . Sorry, had to restart my heart. The chicken was good. The place was in need of some serious cleaning. The sauce bottles were all greasy, kind of gross. The tables were tacky. The menus were gross too.
(3)Brandon L.
Amazing chicken and waffle sandwich! Cool atmosphere and decor. Will definitely return for seconds!
(5)Ralph C.
(4)Megan M.
The service was terrible. We waited for almost an hour (the restaurant was not even busy) and our order was wrong. The food was good but not worth the wait. I guess it's hard to get things done when your server is obviously high.
(3)Zane M.
Fun, easy going environment. Food was tasty! Good local place!
(4)Chuck B.
1/2 Chicken over a fluffy waffle....dang good! Chicken was crispy and piping hot and not at all greasy....cooked just like Mamas! Okra was a great add-on too with service that was friendly and accomodating. Great low key place with awesome eats! Highly recommend!
(5)Shannon B.
(3)Natasha V.
i found it cool that the music they play is actually a collection of vinyl records of different classic bands. that is way cool! the bartender played a fleetwood mac album for me and i loved it! the food is unique and delicious. i had the chicken and waffes and oh my gosh, mmmmm good! decent beer selection i observed, cant remember which one i ordered as it's been a couple of years, might have been shock top. i definately would recommend this place if you're looking for something unique.
(5)Marcus H.
I loved the chicken and waffle fries.
(5)Anna F.

(5)Andrew N.
(5)Sabrina G.
Really liked the atmosphere. Must say I loved waffles & chicken with their White Russian drinks. Yumm will probably come visit again in near future.
(4)Chris M.
(4)Jessica L.
(5)Matilda J.

(4)Adam R.
Very good old, fashioned fried chicken. Waffle was a pleasant suprise. Gravy was very good also. Pricing was fair with nice portions.
(5)R B.
Super cute decor. The chicken nachos and chicken n waffles were fast and delicious. Fair beer prices and nice staff. Not a fan of the extra prices for sides and such but the mashed potatoes were plenty for 2 and dang good.
(4)Austin M.
Good.
(4)Sally G.
Great fried food! I had the okra to start. Very good . Not slimy or mealy. Then the chicken and waffles! So good. My green bean were slightly over cooked, but they were covered in bacon; so, do you really care? No. No you don't. We'll be back!
(5)Brandi P.
(5)Clayton M.
(4)Shelley D.
(5)J P.
(4)Maggie F.

It's so heavenly from very first bite. My new favorite place of fried chicken!!! Nice service & amazing decor! Definitely we will go back.

Great food! Great service. Got right in and served very fast. Best chicken and waffles I have had in along time. When I'm in town, I will definitely come back. Get there for happy hour and the deals are amazing!
